The question I get MOST OFTEN while traveling is like, "how do you afford this?!" and let me tell you. It boils down to a few things.
1. Savings
2. www.workaway.info or www.worldpackers.com (companies that let you volunteer in exchange for room & board)
3. Remote Work (https://weworkremotely.com/, https://remote.co/, https://remoteworkhub.com/, and even www.indeed.com and www.glassdoor.com offer options to filter "remote" positions only)
That's literally it.
I wish there was more, some secret formula, some wild story of success, but there is not. It comes down to motivation, to planning and to living under my means. Some months I don't spend a penny, some months I have to buy a plane ticket, some months I splurge on a restaurant that was featured on Netflix. It really just depends on the month, but the main goal of me writing this is to tell you, ANYONE can do what I do.
There are also options like:
1. Teaching English with websites like https://www.teachaway.com/teach-english-abroad or https://www.internationalteflacademy.com/teaching-english-abroad-as-english-teacher and literally hundreds more.
2. Working on Organic Farms (WOOFing) through https://wwoof.net/
3. Au Pairing (living with a family in exchange for helping with their children, & you get paid!) www.aupairworld.com can help with this and many other sites too! To read more check out my post on where to start.
4. Be a copywriter for writers.work or any number of businesses who need copywriting & things of that nature on craigslist, indeed, etc.
It's all about creating the reality that you want. Being determined, setting your priorities and making it happen.
If you have any other questions I am always super happy to answer them!
Cheers y'all,
